From my recollection Trevor Hendy lost a bucket load investing in MIS's and other tax-related schemes. He used to take no part in managing his own money and left it all to accountants and financial advisers and therefore had very little left.

He now proclaims to take a very active role in managing his own affairs and advocates certain advisors and managers.

From memory there was an article in BRW.
