In the Age (21 March 2020) Federal Minister for Industry, Karen Andrews, was asked about a shortage of ventilators for those who have contracted deadly pneumonia associated with corona virus. Andrews said that 'the government is seeking to develop ... production capacity'. When asked how, she says a start is being made working with makers of machines used to treat sleep apnoea [through CPAP or continuous positive airway pressure]. 'We are looking to do the ventilators and we would look at re-purposing [existing manufacturing equipment] where we can'.
Resmed and Fisher and Paykel Health both make CPAP machines. Both companies have an excellent Return On Equity.
