mattyroo, I'll give you a brief rundown of what happened.

Basically Liam Bartlett went to Canada (Ft. McMurray) to explore one of Shell's oil sand operations (Albion). They talked to the operations manager there who said there was enough oil there for 200 years. They spoke to environmentalists who talked about the massive ecological damage.

Then they came back to Aust and spoke to a Prof Hutton about shale oil, which we supposedly have 20-30b barrels of. They said the once dead industry could be born again when we realise Bass Strait oil is running out. He says its only a matter of time.
