The site of the stockade is a beautiful park these days.
A sad, however a critical piece of Australian history.
It was a tough time back in those days.
Today we bang on about rights and respects of all these different special interest groups. Back in those days, the emancipation of Roman Catholics was in its infancy - in name only really. No representation of free men in the colony as such, yet were taxed into oblivion. Etc, etc.
We have it easy today.
