For anyone who just turned up to the thread, I definitely wasn't trying to insinuate that RMX are manipulating their reporting, I was simply trying to understand what could happen through hypotheticals.

The awesome research done by people on this thread (much more detailed than my own) is great to see, and along with my own research pretty much clears up any worries I initially had about anything dodgy going on with RMX.

I will say though, that I think it is a good idea to take any announcement from a company you have just discovered with a grain of salt. If you assume that the company is dodgy beforehand, then use that suspicion to DYOR and prove yourself wrong - you have a better chance of not picking a dud. IMO.
