From my understanding, none of the trades yesterday were the actual shares from the SPP. None of those 142M shares will have been issued till today so those shares cannot be blamed for yesterdays fall.

I believe this is incorrect but regardless typically people who participated in the SPP may already have held shares so once they knew of their allocation, they may have sold shares they held instead. So I believe yesterday's announcement and subsequent selling by some SPP holders was partly to blame.

It's holding up today better than I expected on remarkable volumes once again (34mill in an hour). Still think it will edge lower in the afternoon but current price action has been promising.
