The simplest explanation is the shares relate to legacy issues. The company only changed direction towards the end of last year, after a long time as GDY and working away on hot-rocks electricity generation (a great idea and technology, it’s just not economically viable as yet).
It seems to me there’s a few people who probably took part in the last CR (0.95c) and began selling out at 1.9c, capped the last rise and goodwill which was developing towards RNE. They probably undid all the good work and free press the above article inspired towards RNE. I think it’s too early to know if this is will become a theme.
I see massive potential in RNE, and a free-kick with the carry forward losses (~$250m), but it’ll depend on how the shareholders act. With a MC of ~$10m it’s a long way from attracting institutional buyers which means its fluctuations will be subject to the whims of traders and retail holders.
