You could always sell on market. There are always major funds that will buy on market at a discount in which they take risk on the Arbitrage opportunity say -10% to -15% from the implied value of the TO value per share.
Re holding international shares, each to their own man, they are in the top 8 on the GDX holdings and % held even higher then NST in the ETF. They're held by all the major ETFs and most gold funds.
Re currency - i guess thank goodness for exchanges rates
