The MD didn't leave. He is not that sort of person. He would perservere and make this project work. His reputation is hand in hand with this project success.
The MD was forced to fall on his own sword for some unknown reason. (this has been discussed on HC) He was fired. Most likely reasons are a personality clash and project delays.
I believe that the project is very close to initial success and most of the credit will still go to DW.
The rewards will go to the patient shareholders.
Failure is not an option. There are too many influential shareholders in the top 20 to allow the company to fail.
I know we all have to make our own call. Mine is to see the distance and claim the prize.
