A post from another site regarding the recent broker presentation.Interesting reading.
they are testing 1-1 now. We had quite a detailed disgorge on the troubles presented by the overpressured zone causing greif as the test rig tries to control the downhole conditions for fraccing etc.
Oil and Gas have run 'up the pole' twice while testing has been attempted and a tank next to the pad holds 80bbls crude that has forced its way up during the two clean up attempts.
Its a problem , but a nice problem to have !!
They will control it and complete frac/test , probably in the next few weeks , then plan is to drill 2 more directional deep wells from the same pad in order to assess the Montarey futher and run horizontals to pump meaningful amounts next year.
Kain mentioned a nearby Montarey field where the vertical bore production was 100 bopd and this increased to 3000 bopd after running 2 horizontals and fraccing.
JH2 deeps was to have been drilled this month but Occidental snaffled their rig by gauranteeing the rig operator 12months drilling :( Therefore JH2 deeps will be early 06... although we will learn alot in the next month from JH1-1 testing.
Shallow JH2-1 produced 'near Methane' with an (almost unheardof) mud log reading of 4950 btu , and this will be the next shallow well tested (with great anticipation), thats after they finish shagging around with JH 2-13 and 3-13 which are slow to test due to back silting in the lower zones . They should move up into the better zones higher up I reckon , but Kain said its difficult to go back down hole after you've moved up , so they are persisting with getting the lower zones fracced and tested .
Thats a snippet of what we learnt , need a break from typing for now LOL :)
