I have been after a job with this company as i,m originally from Goulburn just up the road. A friend that i no at Olympic Dam is good friends with the project manager.
He even put my resume in for me.

Indiscussion yesterday my exact words where do you want to be turning dirt in July. His reply was we want to be mining in the first quarter and that is the reason it will be contract run. As i stated getting mining gear even for the big boys takes time. Olympic Dam has a 6 month wait for loaders and trucks.

Unfortunately i have missed out as there org chart is full but he offered to pass the resume on in December to the winning contractor. And i will be calling back in the 1st week of december.

As i stated when asking why not owner miner, the lead time was another 18 months by the time gear arrives and a work force is organised and trained. In my view this is the right move on there behalf, Contractor has the gear and supplies the work force for you.

Have no idea what the trading halt is all about.

Lets hope it all goes well.
