    amory..

I have never exalted the glory of war...believe me or not - I never would - for too many reason.

However, there is always the need and the requirement withion our (indeed any) society to hold the deeds of the men and women who fought for the country in reverential awe.

Now...I know some of you blieve that to do so some how glorifies the act.

    It doesnt.

It glorifies the embodiment of duty.

Duty to not just the icons of the country ala flag, parlaiment etc

But duty to you and I. To all of us.

And in the inevitable 20/20 vision that makes hindsight so critical, yes, the acts of the moment often fail the historical standard.

    But again...those are asides.

The Anzac Day spirit celebrates so many things. Not necessarily for me because of my personal history - but to sooooo many Australians it represents all that seems to portray the Aussie spirit.

I have NO time for anyone who makes disparaging comments about the people who went thru these events.

To do so, for me - well, it absolutely disgusts me

Having said all that - no amount of debate will change people's minds about this

Either you get it or you dont.

    Sadly it seems, you dont.
