A couple of months ago one of the houses down the road from us had a big tidy up and quite a few treasures were put out in front of their place for grabs.
The 4 households that passed this collection daily were very stoic for the first day or so and resisted the urge to collect anything. But by the third day I couldn't help myself. The sandstone wall planter went in the boot as well as a couple of besser blocks (you can never have too many of them). Then the avalanche started. The lawn mower and washing machine went, the hose lengths. Every day new stuff appeared and it was a rush to get down there and check it out every morning. Bearing in mind, the road is closed and only 4 households to do the treasure hunting. Had a coffee with my neighbour recently and spotted a few of the treasures and admitted my finds. Gee we laughed at our inability to drive past free stuff! The wall-planter is looking really good by the way. Alyssum and lobelia gently spilling down the wall.
