Rob Oakeshott is again gracing the 7.30 report as a self-promoting knight in shining armour deploring the "drifting away" from verbal, eyeballing and written agreement on section 40 (or was it 50?) of the current parliamentary reform package still being fleshed out by all parties. More specifically, he believes that they have all previously agreed that an independent speaker can have deliberative voting rights rather than the the current casting vote that Harry Jenkins invokes. And he is all a-twitter insisting that pairing rights for the Speaker had already been agreed on. He initiated a meeting today with Tony Abbotter and he is disappointed that some parties to the agreement have back away from his "all for one and one for all" group hugging fairy land of utopia that only Rob currently lives in. Reality check Rob. As far as I know, Ms Gillard is still receiving advice on the legality of both requests - why didn't you initiate a meeting with her today and include her in your 7.30 Knight in Shining armour Report? How long do we have to put up with Oakeshott's shameless attempts to manipulate not only the media but also parliamentary reform to allow his halo to shine brighter? Even KOB chided him for naivity.
