Oakeshott was the only independent to be promised a position in cabinet by Ms Gillard. He doesn't care about the Lyne electorate. He only cares about his career. Windsor is retiring at the end of the year, so he doesn't care. How disappointing. We need an MP in Lyne that cares about the people.

What a poor decision. A complete slap in the face for the electorate and those who voted for you. With Labor's horrendous track-record it's clear that this is going to end in yet another disgrace. You should have listened to your local constituents Mr. Oakshot, because next election, you'll hear us speak loudly and clearly at the ballot box.

Well Rob congratulations on completely stuffing the country. Do you remember what party you came into power on. Just to remind you it was the nationals and then you decided to go independant and now you're true colours have shown all red. Back to the polls time to resign oakehott. one other thing rob where is this magic money going to come from, let me tell you your electorate as well as the other electorates.

Did I hear correctly? You decided to back the ALP because you thought they were less likely to call an early election? What about representing your electorate? What about a decision made on the merits that represents the intentions of the electorate. That that great vampire squid, the ALP can be allowed back in with a paltry first party vote, a clear loss of the two-party vote and fewer seats is an amazing horid reality. Well done.

See you later Oakshott, enjoy the unemployment line!

Thanks for selling us out Rob. Only 13% in Lyne voted for Gillard and her incompetent Government. I look forward to calling you a hypocrite the next time I see you in Horton Street. Enjoy the next 3 years because it's the last time you will get my vote.

You betrayed the very people that voted for you and didn't even get a good deal out of it. You made a terrible decision and will now have to live with it for the next 3 years. I am sure deep down you must feel very guilty.

Oakeshott described his decision as "juicy and sexy" what in the name of good fortune is he on about, also he said he was going to have a "Wow of a time in Parliament" is this bloke the full quid? obviously he is too juvenile and self centered to do a good job. This Government will not be around for very long, so I hope the Libs and the Nats are looking around for two great candidates to take the places of these two fools at the next Election.

That is a lovely Jetty on your web site Rob, sad that the Kids will not be allowed to fish there or anywhere else, your new Buddies the Greens have made Gillard promise to close down most of the fishing grounds, just think what that will do to Tourism, tourists will go elsewhere and with them will go the jobs and also many small businesses, I am sure you never even asked what Gillard had promised the Socialist Greens to get their preferences. Mining tax will go up, Bob Brown wants another $2 Billion from them, Company Tax will be 33%, Death Duties will be back, so will Capital Gains Tax, we will all be paying Carbon Tax, Bob Brown wants 5 weeks annual leave!!! How can Small Business afford that? Forget about working hard to get ahead and making a success of your life, the Greens will not allow that, the best thing for us to do is to sit on our backsides like most of the Greens, hold out our hands and get the dole, let the Government keep us. We will be a Communist Country before long. Gillard is a ,member of the Fabian Society, Google it and you can read all about it. Be afraid Australia, be very afraid. Can't wait for the next Election.

Mr Oakeshott - look at the results on the Virtual Tally Room - Liberal won more primary and two party preferred voting - that means the MAJORITY of Australian voters wanted a change of government - why didnt you and Tony Windsor respect the wishes of the Australian voting public

Bob Katter proved to be the honest broker didn't he, a 20-point plan and Green Labor didn't measure up. How Oakshotte and Windsor could make comment about now refuted "black holes" and then praise a national broadband network that has no business plan, started at $4b and is now claimed to be $42b and commentators suggest it could be double that amount is a mind boggling.

Rob - you made a HUGE error, you better find a safe Labor seat for next election
Posted by Mark, 7/09/2010 8:44:35 PM, on Port Macquarie News
Well, here's another one who won't be voting for him next time around. Bad bad decision, Mr O.
Posted by AnneR, 7/09/2010 8:56:55 PM, on Port Macquarie News
The most honorable thing he could have done was make it 75/75 and send us back to the polls And then he might keep his seat. Now next election Get rid of him!!

Boot Oakeshott 2013! A disgraceful decision which completely ignores the view of the electorate.
