TEMORA in central western NSW has a rich gold mining history - that?s where, in 1882, the ?Mother Shipton? gold nugget with 259oz of the yellow metal was discovered.
Mostly, the old workings at Temora exploited narrow quartz veins with near-surface, high gold grades ranging up to 90 grams/tonne. Over the past 30 years, several companies have looked for extensions of these veins but with little success.
So it was interesting to note this morning?s announcement from Paradigm Metals (PDM).
The company reports that rock samples from old mine dumps and other areas has proved worthwhile. At the old Homeward Bound mine, PDM reports grades up to 75g/t and, at Barron West, 24g/t. The company is now working on finalising drill targets at Homeward Bound.
