The concrete and cement industries are as far removed from being dynamic as they could possibly be.
Indeed, LafargeHolcim, HeidelbergCement, BASF, SIKA etc. are the epitome of conservative and slow.
It is a well known fact that the development and deployment of "low carbon" cements is happening far too slowly.
Although there has been some R&D into "low carbon" cements, very few of these projects have reached commercialization, and almost none of them have reached widespread industry acceptance. In fact, it is highly likely that EdenCrete will be one of the first to achieve widespread industry acceptance.
It is also a well known fact that "cement" sector R&D expenditure, as a proportion of total sales, is extremely low compared to other industry sectors.
