I don't like Cangai by the way. I'm just using it as an example of how an experienced exploration company might test for material extensions to a vein-type resource which was mined in the past. Did you have a look at the long section on page 24 of the linked document? There are many ways to explore future prospectivity of projects – some geologists like to throw the “baby out with the bathwater” when assessing exploration models others like to add to the existing understanding or knowledge base – the only true assessment on approach is success (or not).
I would like you to tell me how one can drill down dip perpendicular to strike and not be drilling entirely in the vein - your definition of a directors' special if I recall. You are misinterpreting “down-dip” for “down the dip plane or down the plane of dip”. The 1992 trench was at surface and sampling of veins were to a max depth of 1.8m – any strata that isn’t horizontal is by definition inclined or vertical - standing either side of the surface expression of those veins will either be up-dip or down-dip depending on the dip direction.
DEFINITION of 'Wildcat Drilling' The process of drilling for oil or natural gas in an unproven area, that has no concrete historic production records and has been unexplored as a site for potential oil and gas output. ex Wiki – I can assure you that the same terminology applies in both mineral exploration and oil exploration – even hydrology – all means the same – the term “wild cat” is American – us Australians’ have “feral cats”!
