ML (Merrill Lynch) on board actively lending stock to shorters? A notice to this effect was a long time coming in the case of HDR. ASIC should have acted sooner.

Just check out HDR since ML's made their presence felt...

Issues are fertile ground for generating volatility and uncertainty in the minds of investors due to their very nature, this is regardless of any 1h 10m long rationalising/reassuring presentations from the board.

There is more sovereign risk now present in this stock owing to its increased focus on China. Their is uncertainty surrounding Apache's motives to sell the asset. If not here then certainly in the minds of the institutional investors.

Why would Apache sell? Myriad reasons and most of them would be unknown to the average holder. We are like mushrooms... kept in the dark and fed on ****.

Coupled with possible increased opex costs due to the need for greasing of the wheels in the newly acquired Cn projects and possible need for infrastructure upgrades due to the more mature nature of the facilities and bingo - Cap it-short it-scheme of arrangement announcement with a 'aren't you all lucky we've saved your bacon' here's a 'certain' value offer, and it's game over before you can even say S of A.

    Exercise caution in your hard-earned.
