interestingly in the original 29/10/10 ann avanco claimed "no drilling for nickel platinum has been undertaken" at conceicao, which in todays (14/02/11) ann is stated as "never been drilled for nickel sulphides or pgms"

teck have carried out limited drilled on the conceicao licence blocks for ni (likely laterite)

as to the rock chip sample results released today

no indication of how many rock chip samples taken for testing, however results released for four, one of which shows promise (for a rock chip sample)

the four rock chip samples listed were all collected from the three areas selected by xstrata for extensive soil sampling based on their 2006 vtem survey over the central part of the conceicao block

AV9778 (17.54% cu, 1.95% ni, 12.19 g/t pd and 4.17 g/t pt) and AV9782 both come from vtem-4 [vtem-4 was one of four vtem targets teck selected for follow-up work just before ending their jv with lara at conceicao];
AV9776 comes from the pyroxenite (hosted-ni-cu-sulphide) anomaly [lara exploration mapping indicates the pyroxenite anomaly is probably less than a few metres thick and the gabbro body itself is no more than 100m thick]; and
AV9775 comes from the the fazenda mineiro gossan anomaly [xstrata mapping indicates ni-rich gossan float occurs in the red soils developed over a gabbro body several hundred metres wide]
