NEXT STEP TOWARDS REOPENING MT MORGAN MINE

Carbine Resources' plan to re-open the Mount Morgan Mine is a step closer, with Rockhampton Regional Council today agreeing to road upgrades to ensure a safe haulage route from the mine site to Gladstone Port.

This means several major road upgrades, including:
    - Widening two curves on Creek Street/Razorback Road
    - Widening The Jump Up, the steepest part of the Razorback
    - Upgrading the intersection of Razorback Road and Poison Creek Road, to include a lane for turning right into Poison Creek road and more room for large vehicles turning left into Razorback Road
    - Upgrading Poison Creek Road's western floodway so two heavy vehicles can pass each other.

Carbine Resources will be required to mitigate their impact on local road infrastructure, including paying more than $800,000 compensation to council over the life of the project.
