To assume that a bot was responsible for yesterday's is absurd and provoking fear. The issue was in relation to the reporting of certain trades back to the market. I know that TMC's (tailor made combos') are not currently working.
Algo trading has been around since the simple stop loss order placement was introduced many years ago. The ASX replaced SEATS for ITC which was the options trading platform so it could handle certain combination type trading. If anything, it has made the market more transparent.
If you think Algo trading will affect the market, then i suggest you look further into "Dark Pools" and what they potentially will do to the market i.e. each broker been a potential market themselves.
It wont be long before the mums and dads will have access to Algo trading, its here to stay so you might as well get used to it
