What a ludicrous bunch of fear-mongering hyperbole. Trading algorithms communicate with the ASX - just like your online broker - they don't run on ASX computer systems themselves. They're not viruses, they're not trojans and they're not worms. While it might be possible for a trading algorithm to overload the ASX that doesn't mean that algorithmic traders are actually running code on the ASX platform.
I'm not saying algorithmic trading shouldn't be regulated in some way, but your post is largely in error where the truth is concerned.
