When Vietnamese came to Australia, in the late '70's, at the same time the Laotians arrived, but somehow authorities did not allow Vietnamese to come to Albury/Wodonga, ... only Laotians, as a number were employed at Sanyo Wodonga, where I was employed at the time.
The Laotians told me that if the Vietnamese were in A/W, there would have been big trouble, because of previous problems between the two countries in the past.
Most of the Laotians were very good people, and had no experience with Vietnamese.
and kopiteau, .... you are correct, only one problem ideology in Australia that will not fit in because we are infidels.
