In response to justinmetals comment regarding payback I think it's best to create a dedicated thread for ROI calculations.

Justinmetals posted the following in the bluegen.net thread which I think we should keep

"The reason there is no uptake is because the subsidies still fall below what makes this attractive! Paybacks of 8 years even with current subsidies and FITs are probably wishful thinking. Then after youve paid back - guess what your stumped with gennex module replacement costs."

I don't appreciate this kind of negative scare mongering without the facts.

When stating claims you should show your calculations. How did you arrive at an 8 year payback with current subsidies?

I'm in the process of performing my own calculations and so far without subsidies using Australian pricing I'm getting around a 10year payback on a $25k unit. I will produce my calculations when I get more time so they can be verified. So if you half the price of the unit that's a 5year ROI without subsidies! These were rough calculations for the Australian domestic market. These are inline with company projections if the cost of the unit was ~$8k. I'm currently basing my calculations on all energy being used onsite to avoid the complication and distortion of FiTs.

Can some help with pricing from UK and Germany
Figures I would appreciate with sources specified are:
    - Price of bluegen
    - price of gas
    - price of electricity
    - bluegen maintenance cost
    - water consumption
