To me it makes more sense to invest in the future, lots of new technology weren't profitable in the beginning until they were able to scale out. whether you want to admit it or not renewables are the future and the rest of the world will make Australia pivot regardless if we want to or not.

Australia could have been a leader exporting new technologies to the world which would have been a net boon. Instead we are last to the party with all the treats long gone and all we are left with is some egg sandwiches which we somehow smeared across our face.
