I'm not that disappointed because even though the reserves were good there were some misgivings with the whole deal.
(a) in 2010 they lost money.
(b) the mining plant was substandard - check out the cuprumin abrud web site and view the trucks and shovels- like something out of Mad Max.
(c) they owed a bundle to the electric co.
(d) the environmental issues were going to be a problem.
(e) the grade was'nt that good.
(f) the weather was going to be a problem - rain and snow.
(g) how were we going to change the work culture - the mine was underperforming for years.
On the positive side of things the proccess showed that OZL wer'nt just sitting back doing nothing and have been out there looking for short term growth solutions. It also shows that TB was'nt going to overpay for a project that needed serious money spent on it.
