"Opposition leader Kevin Rudd has hired economics professor Ross Garnaut to inquire into the economic threat posed by climate change and what more should be done to mitigate it's effects."

Given that LHG has a good and acceptable green agenda (ie use of geothermal energy) it will be interesting to see what Professor Garnauts report brings.
Not due out as a final report until October 2008, there would be little ramifications for Lihir, it is however interesting that Professor Garnaut has agreed to the request.

In terms of the debate regards climate change there is no dispute as to that it is occuring, the question is what's causing it?
