not being that close to the Dockers all I can do is speculate on what many others have said and that is that it is an intrinsic problem in the hierachy of the club. To be as unsuccessful as the Dockers have been is a blight on the competition although I can't see how the AFL can be to blame.
Dockers finally went for a development policy rather than purchase policy last couple of seasons and it started to pay dividends before injuries tore them apart.
Barlow and Hill are two stand outs from local talent as opposed to purchasing high profile players like the Waterhouses,Modras and Tarrants.
The worse they perform the more friction in the club and Pav is reportedly to think his own opinions higher than the coaches so some divisive stuff happening.
Maybe they should have gone with new young talent like Scotty Watters?
What ever happens there will be some questions raised by members as to the callous sacking of the coach. The deal was obviously put to bed a while back. If Lyons doesn't produce something very quick their will be a member exodus imo.
Take big Sandilands out of the Dockers and they struggle so they need a much better back up and obviously a better mid field.
