I wouldn't worry about this sort of stuff. most of the stocks I own I know it fairly well so I actually like this sort of crazy news because
I get to use that to my advantages from time to time to buy good business on the cheap.
The classic of them all has to be FLT ...
during GFC man some crazy shit come out of that buy them cheap at $4.50 what a bargain....
the other one CCV some times ago when lateline business air an episode on Cash Converter and people make comments banks are moving into this business ..fear start to kick in...
boy it share got a bit of a hit but I was 100% sure banks can never get into this CCV business ..I know banks and CCV too well...bought a whole load of CCV.

CCP is another classic again people was taunting it going bankrupt during its fall from grace but little did they know they have a massive number of people on a regular payment plan so that should keep it cash flow in good shape
and work out any problem they have ....and bring the business around with that information I load up when people bailed ....
Know the business well and you can use fear and rumors to your advantage ....
Love bad news especially the fear driven one hahahaha
