    "Rotten to its core": Editorial

Paul Murray has unleashed a scathing editorial on the system that allows politicians to travel the country and world funded by the taxpayer without having to explain in detail why. Listen to explanation here and have your say on the lack of accountability for using our money.

    Well worth a listen

Randall should go, says WA Liberal MP

Liberal MP Don Randall should be sacked by Prime Minister Tony Abbott, or resign, over his questionable expenses claims according to one of his WA Liberal colleagues.

The under-scrutiny federal MP for Canning is still refusing to answer queries over expenses claims that included $5000 in travel expenses for a trip to Cairns for "electorate business," when he was taking possession of an investment property in Queensland.

He has also been asked to explain his claims for purchases of books including a guide to Broadway musicals as well as multiple copies of Guinness World Records.

Rob Johnson, the State Liberal MP for Hillarys, said today Mr Randall should not only answer the queries, but walk away from parliament.

"He should either resign from parliament and do the honourable thing, or Tony Abbott should show some leadership here and sack him," Mr Johnson said.
But Mr Johnson said to have Mr Randall as part of the parliamentary committee that oversees MPs' entitlements is an embarrassment.
"For him to be on the privileges committee which oversees standards of parliament is the height of hypocrisy. Don Randall should go," Mr Johnson said.

Why is abbott not dealing with this issue in an adult manner?
