Where was the media scrutiny of Abbott and his henchmen before the election? Now that their team is in government the media is pretending to hold the government to account. Yawn!
Nothing is going to come of it. The media just needs a suitably innocuous topic to re-gift itself some credibility after it lost so much pre-election.
Essentially, we have a captive media which must be seen to be unbiased and investigative, but is neither. Its usefulness to those with power, however, depends upon a facade of integrity.
