The ministers resigning now and retiring from parliament at the next election have been in parliament a long time. They would stand to collect large entitlements for the rest of their lives. If I was them I wouldn't hang around there any longer than I had to in a boring artificial place like Canberra when I could be enjoying life in better places on a generous pension plus perks for life. I would not attach too much significance to senior politicians retiring. Dave R.
