    UKD makes lamproite find

NEW aeromagnetic data has been used to identify a new lamproite pipe at United Kimberley Diamonds' Ellendale South project, which the company believes could be up to 6 hectares in size.

The company said the newly tagged UKD 1 pipe had been identified from lamproitic material recovered during a recent field trip, with laboratory work underway to ascertain the chemical and mineralogical nature of the pipe.

In addition, United Kimberley said it was awaiting results from 136 termite mound samples taken from eight anomalies, and was conducting advanced modeling, enhancement and imaging of the aeromagnetic data to identify further anomalies.

MiningNews.net was unable to reach United Kimberley chief executive Jim Richards.

United Kimberley, which also holds the Phillips Range and Argyle North projects in the Kimberley, was spun out of Thundelarra Exploration and listed on the ASX in December after raising $10 million in its IPO.

However, the news wasn't enough to lift the company from its 52-week low of 9c with shares remaining unchanged during early morning trade.
