After all the exchanges have to upgrade their computers if they are getting hammered by algos and their frequent order placing, so it would become user pays rather than the cost being shared with retail traders who do not or cannot engage in such behaviour
If the exchange wont impose the fee, the government should and they should keep it

A minimum marketable parcel of $500 needs to be introduced for all transactions where possible. E.g. the practice of buying/selling 1 share of a $1 stock every few minutes is stupidity. If not, lift the minimum marketable parcel rulings for every market participant so everyone can play that game.

Marketable Parcel means, in relation to:
1. Equity Securities (but not rights to subscribe for Equity Securities or options over Equity Securities) a parcel of securities of not less than $500 based on:
(a) the closing price on a Trading Platform, if the Equity Securities are quoted; or
(b) the price paid on issue if the Equity Securities are unquoted.
