our health system, whilst has “coped” with COVID short term, it doesn’t and won’t ever have the capacity to endure more than a couple of waves without long term pressure.
vaccines are clearly working wonders, but imo they really need to be supplemented with quick detection and isolation of infected for our health system to come close to managing as we were accustomed pre COVID.
even if it is only a mild infection, it’s a significant impost on workplaces to lose a good portion of their staff at the same time. Still need to control the spread as best as possible of the economy to operate effectively.
