"One company that reckons Canberra will get its' way is Sydney based Redport, which recently acquired a 30% stake (rising to 80% over four years depending on investment of $1.6 million) in the the Lake Maitland project in WA.

If, and it remains a big if, WA does approve U mining, Far East Capital analyst, Warwick Grigor says this project will make Redport one of the few legitimate U companies "in the rare position of having a resource as opposed to a few interesting exploration results".

Grigor says Redport looks cheap at its current share price of 3.8c and might be worth a punt for investors not averse to a little risk."
