The massive flooding event was rare.
I thought he lost his job because of the failure to understand the geological issues with the oxide / transition ore and the costly processing / recovery problems it caused. Perhaps he resigned or did he lose his job because he was responsible. The Chairman is not a person who would look for a scapegoat as a symbolic sacrifice.
