Kosmo, good logic but you tell that to the rocks!
The usual plan of attack is whack a hole in the middle of the best info (geochemistry, geophysics, etc) you have available.
Then the field geo works with his visual observations (and hopefully quick assays) to juggle the proposed programme about a bit-ie a bit deeper, along strike in one direction slightly more than another. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending upon your experience with field geos) the programme rarely gets adjusted too much as the powers that be will not let him amend the budget.
What then usually happens is the programme is completed, on the RRS case a further 17 holes, then the geo responsible gets the assays, plots the holes, then recommends downhole EM(more geophysics) to better identify any orebody in the region.
In otherwords, the current programme is very much grass roots. The follow up programme will make it or break it (usually!LOL). And yes , a commercial hit in this first pass programme would be very positive.
Definition of positive-"well worth kicking the guys on the drill rig back into action after 5 days in the Coolgardie pub." It does not mean it is a mine til you get lots of commercial hits that 'hang together' in some sort of continous fashion, it has satisfactory metallurgy (see TIR and current Armstrong production), the 'dimensions' are OK-depth/shape of orebody vis a vis the average grade, "God' is on your side!LOL-God covers everything from native title, to the local council, to environmental issues, to water availability etc etc etc.
Net effect-RRS probably does not control the news, at least not as much as they would like to!
    Cheers,TAS
