22:18 GMT - Resolute Mining's annual production goal looks increasingly stretched after a soft 2Q, says Bell Potter. While quarterly gold output of 66,581 troy ounces at an all-in cost of A$1,392/oz was better than the broker expected, gold sales were considerably lower. Bell Potter acknowledges that 1H was always seen as the more challenging part of FY18, but thinks FY18 guidance is too ambitious. "Whilst we assume a better 2H and acknowledge Resolute's track record of delivery, we model a slight miss on FY18 guidance of 297,889 oz at A$1,275/oz," it says. Still, the bull remains confident that underground ore from the Syama mine in Mali and an expansion of its Ravenswood operation in Australia will result in better performance over time.
