This is a high-cost issue for Governments, insurers, hospitals and patients, and the requirement for action from these parties has been driven by legislation. The US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (
#cms ) now fines poor-performing Hospitals for failing to meet lower re-admission targets under the Affordable Care Act (
#affordablecareact).
Respiri's acquisition of Access Managed Services and its Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) business leverages the benefits of Wheezo, its Asthma and COPD MedTech device. The new services of the combined entity are expected to drive the company's revenue expansion by helping to reduce hospital re-admission rates in the US.
Why is RPM needed?
✔ 2,250 hospitals (42%) in the US were fined for excessive re-admission rates (patient returns within 30 days)
