With most conference presentations the slides are normally released as an ASX announcement. They are usually just rehashes of past announcements.
The oil shows release said they found oil in the second target. So I'm not sure how your best estimate can go up if your first target wasn't a hit. Also the Cairn website only mentions 1.255 so they don't even agree on that one.
To come up with these numbers they basicly they sit down with the geos and get them read out increasing figures. When they get to the point they can no longer say it with a straight face they stop and that's the estimate.
