In retrospect, I agree with Varuka that partner may take the long term view in this.

But from what I know so far, RTG owns the property and win or lose, I don't see how partner can take out RTGs holdings against RTGs will. There is no legal mechanism to do so.

I also know that their business model is contracting, and they really can't make any money unless the property is mined. I believe RTG has priority rights if the partner sells anyway.

Partner also doesn't own any RTG stocks.

I just don't see how a waiting game benefits them unless RTG sells to them. And by that time, RTG can probably get a better price for their interest from another party. Again, even under Philippine settings, I don't see the end game for them unless they have the assurance that they will end up owning RTGs 64%.
