I think the JV partner wants to buy out their 68% share in Mabilo on the cheap, not take over RTG
He is likely preying on fear that Gina will get appointed and the next 6 years of no mining will drain RTG of funds during arbitration ... if they can't mine it, and are wasting funds on it, they may be inclined to sell and move on. He may be happy to sit on it for 5-10 years
This ALL changes if Gina gets the boot though. If Mabilo gets a mining license RTG will be getting offers left, right and center. I'm sure someone bigger and badder than him would be happy to buy out our stake and take him on
He only has an advantage while that fool Lopez is running DENR and we can't mine ...
It's all a big bluff IMO. He will be making money hand over fist in production, but no harm trying to steal it cheap prior
