Thought I'd open a new thread rather than hijack the old one, but I have a problem with the markets myself.
Obviously I have copped a caning in the last year and I have simply gone into my shell (CXC is a disaster). But I am selling an investment property and Mrs H is retiring and I really don't know what to do with the cash proceeds of the sale/super.
I could take the attitude that I'm getting the cash at a good time to buy the market cheap but I've been trying to buy div paying stocks lately and you look pretty stupid buying something for a 20c div and it then drops 50. LOL
So do I go for the 8% on offer a la DBK? Do I buy gold? (I was once a bug!) Do I buy BHP?
I will, of course, make my own decision but it could be an interesting discussion.
