If Rudd challenged for the leadership I reckon he could go close to getting the numbers. They must be getting desperate at the moment.
If he lost he could then do a Keating and just sit on the back bench gnawing away at Gillard until striking again.
Then again, he probably doesn't want to risk his current jetsetting all expenses paid holidays overseas. Better he just sits back and lets them all burn. They cannot sack him they need his vote until the next election.
Turnbull will be leading the ALP before the end of the year. He wants the NBN, he wants the carbon tax and he wants to lead the ALP.
