There must be a lot of football fans who don't really know/care about politics, but they remember "The blackest day in Australian sport" which, six months later when so many reputations have been destroyed, still has not produced evidence to support such a crazy claim.
They DO remember which party called the CEOs of all the sports together and lectured them like children. Football fans, especially AFL fans, think more highly of their sporting heroes than political frauds.
