I don't really understand why Rudd is seen as the messiah. When he was stabbed in the back i'm pretty sure he was the most unpopular PM in Australian history according to the polls of the time. It gets forgotten that he was thrown out because his own party hated him but mainly because of his lack of popularity. The same goes for Turnbull. No one particularly liked him as opposition leader either.
