Never forget that the Labor Party fought against a Goods and Services Tax when they knew it was needed and would have introduced it themselves. They (Keating) won an election by opposing it and almost won another when the Libs took a huge chance and went to an election promising a new tax - name any other government who has done that and won.

As I've posted before - anyone who reads Latham's Diaries will understand how the Labor Party is stuck in the past and wedded to unionism and factional warlords in an extremely unhealthy way.
