I'd usually say Rudd's nuts....but, I don't disagree that, in principle Australia, still a young country, with a low population, does need to responsibly grow it. The issue is it needs to 1) grow it in regions OTHER than Syd/Mel/SEQld - therefore 2) it needs to step seriously up on the regional infrastructure and economic stimulus ie, water and power and to do that, 3) we need some type of 20yr medicare style "infrastructure levy" and I do mean "real" infrastructure NOT health infrastructure or education infrastructure.
